youthrive on FOX9

On Monday, February 16, 2009, I’ll be making an appearance on FOX 9 News between approximately 8:30AM – 9:30AM CST in a Public Relations capacity on behalf of my client YOUTHRIVE.

FOX 9 is doing a feature on www.BuyTheChange.com, the organization that makes it possible for Nina’s Coffee Café to contribute proceeds to YOUTHRIVE.

Check out Buy The Change’s website and support those people who support our community.  By supporting them, you are directly financing the work that YOUTHRIVE does.

youthrive is the upper midwest affiliate of PeaceJam International, an organization that connects young community leaders with Nobel Peace Prize Laureates like Archbishop Desmond Tutu, The Dalai Lama, Rigoberta Menchu Tum, Betty Williams, Adolfo Perez Esquivel, Jodi Williams, Shirin Ebadi, Aung San Suu Kyi, and many more.

I am lucky enough to play a small role in this process as the Creative Project Coordinator for youthrive.  I do this by using recorded music (The Zero Element CD Series) and live performance (The youthrive: LIVE! touring concert production) to communicate the organization’s message through Art.  If you dig it, pitch in.  There are many links above for you to find additional information.

Thanks for reading,

Peace,

youthrive: LIVE! at Bridgeview School

youthrive: LIVE! @ Bridgeview School

Friday, February 13, 2009 was the final day of Bridgeview’s weeklong celebration of Black History Month and we were honored to be invited.  The students and staff showed us SO much love.
They tore the house down and were joined on stage a few times by the excited student body.  It was a great experience and we hope the invite us back again.
Much respect and appreciation goes out to Jeff Snyder and Principal Mike Piersak for having the vision and guts to invite us, respect us, and acknowledge the power of Hip Hop as an effective means of educating young people.
Thank You Bridgeview!
